吴优是《西施归越》中的丑角,是贯穿全剧的灵魂人物。他表面上是滑稽的弄臣,实际上是满腹辛酸的玩物;他是戏中人,又是清醒的旁观者。吴优在滑稽可笑的外表下,藏着一颗善良柔软的心。他是整部戏里看得最透彻、活得最明白的人,也是清醒理智的人。吴优虽然是生活在社会底层的小人物,身上却闪耀着善良人性的光芒,与众人的自私虚伪形成了鲜明的对比。
WU You is a clown in The Return of XI Shi,and also a soul figure throughout the play.On the surface,he is a funny jester,but in fact,he is a bitter plaything.As a sober spectator,he not only knew that XI Shi could not go back,but also understood Goujian’s psychology after returning to the country,so he advised XI Shi to go away.Under the slick appearance,WU You has a kind and soft heart.This kind of kindness is mainly manifested in Wu’s protection of Xi Shi,secretly helping XI Shi after returning to Yue,and tears for XI Shi’s death.Studying the image of WU You is not only helpful for us to grasp the human nature that the author wants to reveal more comprehensively and deeply,but also helpful for the study of supporting role image in opera characters.
