The female Canadian writer Alice Munro, recipient of the 2013 Nobel Prize in Literature,is notable for her characteristic narratives that not only excel in exquisite narrative design, but also exhibit an ongoing concern for a diverse array of female issues. This article analyzes two representative short stories from each of Munro's early(1968—1982),mid-term(1983—1998)and late(1999—2012)creative stages respectively in order to see how the use of narrative voice pertain directly to Munro's concern with different aspects of women's life in different creative periods.Through switching between the personal voice, polyphony and the authorial voice,Munro succeeds in highlighting diversified emphases throughout her writing career.
