“The Sculpture”in the City——The Analysis of the Architectural Form Language Characteristics of the Oriental Metropolitan Museum in the Works of Pei Partnership Architects

文章基于对南京六朝博物馆建筑形态及其所处城市环境的解读,以及对于该建筑的设计者——美国贝氏建筑师设计事务所秉持的建筑设计理念和手法的分析,尝试由形体、体量、材料、色彩等建筑形态语言要素,剖析这幢城市地标性建筑的特色及在公共空间中所散发的魅力,诠释其与城市界面的良性互动关系,以及作为一座被公众称道的城市“雕塑”的形成机理。

This article is aimed at analyzing the Oriental Metropolitan Museum on a basis of the architectural form,theurban environment of itself,and the architectural design ideas and techniques of the Pei Partnership Architects.The paper will try to illustrate the feature and unique charm around the public space of this landmark building,through its shape,dimension,material,color.It willdemonstrate its positive interactions with the urban inter space,and the formation mechanism as an urban sculpture praised by the public.
