Carson McCullers is a controversial Southern writer in the history of American literature in the 20th century.Because of a series of personal and social factors such as her birth area,gender,bisexual orientation and physical disability,she had many characteristics of marginalized people and has suffered tremendous physical,psychological and spiritual trauma.However,she intentionally or unintentionally attempted“expressive writing”to confront the wound,narrated the wound,healed the wound,and achieved remarkable literary accomplishments.From a unique perspective,she depicted a world that is not concerned by the mainstream society and became the spokeswoman of the lonely,forgotten and abandoned people in this world.
