摘要
利用汉语、英语语料库系统地对比分析汉英语言中“龙/Dragon”的概念隐喻,探索汉英概念隐喻产生共性和个性的深层原因。从词典文本分析来看,汉英“龙/Dragon”有着截然不同的概念隐喻。中国“龙”是权力与中华民族的象征,而西方Dragon是凶悍和危险的象征,但该词条的隐喻信息差异并未在词典文本中充分体现。该研究有助于词典编纂、跨文化交际以及教学和翻译。
This paper systematically compares and analyzes the conceptual metaphors of“Long(龙)”in Chinese and“Dragon”in English,and attempts to explore the underlying reasons for the similarity and individuality of Chinese and English conceptual metaphors.By textual analyzing the dictionaries,the result indicates that“Long”in Chinese and“Dragon”in English have quite different conceptual metaphors.The Chinese“Long”is a symbol of power and the Chinese nation,while the western“Dragon”is a symbol of ferocity and danger.However,the differences of the metaphorical information are not well-presented in the dictionaries.The study contributes to the compilation of dictionaries,intercultural communication as well as teaching and translation.
