基于语料库的汉语“是”字句英译研究

A Corpus-based Study on English Translation Methods of Chinese“Shi(是)-Construction”

“是”字句为现代汉语特殊句式之一,其句式结构和语义特征非常复杂,给汉英翻译增加了很大的难度。该文采用自建的双语平行语料库,在“是”字句句式分类的基础上,考察其翻译方案,旨在提高“是”字句翻译的可接受性,并提出了表等同、表类属、表特征、表强调、表存在、表示直观表象或结果、表让步、表凡是、表列举、“是……的”等10种“是”字句句式的翻译方案。

As one of the special constructions in modern Chinese,the syntactical structure and semantic features of“Shi-Construction”are very complicated,which increases the difficulty of C-E translation.Based on a self-constructed parallel-corpus,this research classifies“Shi-Construction”into ten categories,and then summarizes the English translation methods of various sentence patterns,aiming to improve the translation acceptability of“Shi-Construction”.These sentence categories include“Shi”constructions of equivalence,generics,feature,emphasis,existence,intuitive representation or result,concession,anything,listing as well as the“Shi…de”constructions.
