2014年的秋天,张一鸣访问了硅谷。当时,他执掌的字节跳动已在国内颇具影响力,不过在当时,他之于硅谷而言还只是一家普通的中国创业公司领导者。在这趟旅行中,张一鸣参观了Facebook,特斯拉和爱彼迎(Airbnb)的办公室。事后,有一件事令张一鸣津津乐道。此行他遇到了不少喜欢小米手机的Facebook和Twitter员工。回到北京后,他在一篇博客中写道:“中国科技公司的黄金时代即将来临。”

In 2015,Zhang yiming officially launched Bytedances journey in the overseas market.Five years later,in the first quarter of 2020,TikTok were the most downloaded mobile apps over the world.When July and August arrived,a surge of unexpected tide swept over Zhang Yiming and TikTok.On the evening of August 6,US President Donald Trump abruptly signed two presidential decrees,announcing that two Apps developed by Chinese companies including TikTok and WeChat would be banned within 45 days.When the orders finally landed,Zhangs choice seemed crucial.At the moment,though,he seems to be running out of maneuvers.
