2014年莫迪主政后,中东地区首次作为一个整体出现在印度外交规划中,战略地位得到明显抬升。六年来,面对当前中东大变局的复杂地缘政治环境,莫迪政府奉行以谨慎、务实、平衡为特点的中东政策。在高频率首脑外交的推动下,印度与主要中东国家签署大量合作协议,塑造出政治稳定、经济紧密、安全合作逐步深入的良好局面,也使中东外交成为印度外交的重要亮点。印度中东政策的调整是双方关系长期发展的自然结果,也是印度扩大自身利益的客观需要,同时还是莫迪"大国梦"宏大理想的具体实践。可以预见,未来印度将继续推进和深化与中东各国的关系,并成为中东大国舞台上的成长型玩家。

After Modi took office in 2014, the Middle East appeared in India’s diplomatic planning as a whole for the first time, and its strategic position was significantly enhanced. Over the past six years, the Modi government pursued a cautious, pragmatic and balanced Middle East policy under the complex geopolitical environment of the current regional upheaval. Driven by the high frequency of summit diplomacy, India has signed a large number of cooperation agreements with major Middle East countries, creating a favorable situation of political stability, close economic cooperation and gradually deepening security cooperation. Middle East diplomacy has also become an important highlight of India’s diplomacy. This policy adjustment is a natural result of long term relationship, and the objective need of India to expand its own interests, as well as the concrete practice for Modi’s dream of great power. It is foreseeable that India will continue to promote and deepen its relations with regional countries and become a growth player on the stage of the great powers in the Middle East.
