This paper expounds the significance and purpose of the efficiency optimization of public library service system,analyzes the existing problems,and puts forward the countermeasures and construction path of the efficiency optimization of public library service system in the new period:(1)positioning layout and obtaining government policy guarantee;(2)pushing forward in depth and adopting grid management method;(3)helping precisely to improve the service level of grass-root libraries;(4)overall planning and coordination as well as adopting diverse and integrated strategies;(5)developing innovatively to create public culture service brand.
