媒介物质性:伊尼斯“媒介-文明”观再思

Media materiality:reflection on Innis’s concept of“media-civilization”

伊尼斯以媒介作为诊断文明兴衰的关键,以时空转换为线索探究媒介与文明之间的深度关联,形成"媒介-文明"模式识别方法。本文在物质性转向的思潮下重读伊尼斯,一方面解读伊尼斯思想中媒介物质性的前瞻性和局限性。另一方面以伊尼斯的"媒介-文明"识别模式重新考察媒介物质性的多重维度与文明多样特征的关系,且以媒介考古学方法发掘更多的媒介物质性"遗迹",以期打捞不同于既有历史书写的异质文明。

Innis took media as the key to diagnose the civilization,and explored the deep relationship between media and civilization through space/time transformation,thus forming the pattern recognition method of"media-civilization".On the one hand,this paper re-reads Innis under the ideol ogical trend of materialism turn,and interprets the foresightedness and limitation of media materiality in his thought.On the other hand,Innis’s"media-civilization"recognition model is used to re-examine the relationship between the multiple dimensions of media materiality and the diversified features of civilization,and media archaeology is used to excavate more media materiality"relics"in order to salvage the civilization different from the existing history.
