论新时代中华传统美德的赓续与创新

On the Renewal and Innovation of Traditional Chinese Virtues in the New Era

中华传统美德在社会发展中遭遇传承困境和转型困局,其主要原因在于一方面传统道德规范在要素和内容上出现时代性落差,与社会整体转轨和观念整体变革不相适应;另一方面市场化变革扩大了社会个体的逐利本性,美善的传统道德价值在一定范围内被遮蔽、忽略和抛弃。传统美德在新时代实现赓续和创新的前提是社会人的生存法则实现从个体利己假设向整体利他假设、从物质利益驱动向合理需要驱动、从行为工具导向向思想目标导向、从满足基本生存引领向扩展生命价值引领的转变。新时代中华传统美德的赓续与创新是在妥善处理新旧道德矛盾之后的创造与发展,而传统美德的创造性转化和创新性发展有待于实现中华美德的突破性增长,把传统社会美德植入现代生活和社会治理,塑造适合现代生活的美德样式;借鉴传统美德治理中褒奖与惩戒并举的手段,填补道德治理空白;提升人们对美德的认识能力和实践觉悟,提高美德对现实生活的关照和对人们生命意义的激励与引领。

There is a dilemma for the inheritance and transformation of traditional Chinese virtues in social development.The main reasons are two-fold:on the one hand,traditional moral norms have fallen behind the times in terms of its elements and content,which are incompatible with the overall social transformation and the overall conceptual changes.On the other hand,market-oriented reform has expanded the profit-seeking nature of social individuals,and the traditional moral values of beauty and goodness have been concealed,ignored and abandoned to some extent.The premise for the renewal and innovation of traditional virtues in the new era is a form of transition of the survival rule of social man from individual self-interest to overall altruism in terms of assumption,from material interests to reasonable needs in terms of driving force,from behavior tool to ideological goal in terms of orientation,from the satisfaction of basic subsistence to the expansion of life values in terms of purpose.The renewal and innovation of traditional Chinese virtues in the new era is a form of creation and development after properly handling the gap and differences between old virtues and new virtues,and the task for the creative transformation and innovative development of traditional virtues is to achieve breakthrough growth of Chinese virtues,incorporate traditional social virtues into modern life and social governance,and shape virtues suitable for modern life.Lessons should be drawn from the approach of combining praise and punishment in traditional virtue governance to fill the gaps in moral governance.We should raise people's understanding of virtues and their consciousness to practice virtues,and we should allow virtues to take more of real life into account and improve its role to motivate and guide the meaning of people's lives.
