敦煌变文疑难字词校释

The interpretation of some knotty words in the Dunhuang Bianwen

敦煌变文中有一些字面普通而不易理解的字词,前人每多失校、误录或歧解。本文对其中的“盛愿”“蒲”“噄”“归轮”“豔”“音绫”“较察”“耳”“满成”“红解”等十则字词作了较为详尽的校释。文中指出敦煌写本的用字,或音近借用,或形近讹误。“形讹”易于感知,“音借”难以察觉,故敦煌文献的校读,除了着意于形误字的校勘外,更须重视音借字的通读。

In the Dunhuang Bianwen(transformation texts),there are some words and characters which are difficult to understand.They may have been transcribed inaccurately or interpreted irrelevantly by scholars in history.This paper offers a detailed analysis on the following ten words:shenɡyuan盛愿,pu蒲,jie噄,guilun归轮,yan豔,yin音,juecha较察,er耳,manchenɡ满成and jie解,and suggests that these knotty words and characters were employed in the Dunhuang manuscripts due to their resemblance to other words either in form or in sound.Since formal resemblance is easy to perceive while phonetic resemblance is hard to detect,in addition to the annotation concerning formal resemblance,it is necessary to pay more attention to words borrowed as a result of phonetic resemblance.
