摘要
禅宗三祖僧璨之卒年,在隋大业二年(606)。佛门本来已有共识,学界也认可。但1982年杭州出土的一块砖铭文称,僧璨亡于隋开皇十二年(592)。实则此说有误,本文列出六条依据以证之。僧璨的建塔时间在唐天宝五载(746),但其谥号及塔名迟至代宗大历七年(772)始下达,纠正了一直以来禅门灯录及僧传所记三祖谥号及塔名由玄宗所赐之错误。《信心铭》争议颇多,本文从此铭后世引用的新论据加以讨论,指出《信心铭》出现于唐代,永明延寿引用此铭的特征,以及长期没有注疏的原因。
Differing from the assertion that Monk Can died in 606,the inscriptions on one piece of brick unearthed in 1982 in Hangzhou indicated that Can passed away in 592.The present paper proves that the latter is wrong.Moreover,it correctly points out that the pagoda dedicated to Can was built in 746 and Can s posthumous title and pagoda s title were officially approved in 772.The present paper also discusses the controversial Inscription of Confidence.
