论人类命运共同体理念下“生态文明”英译之理据

An exploration of English translations of "shengtai wenming" from perspective of "community of a shared future for humankind"

20世纪60年代“生态文明”一词传入我国后,其内涵不断得到挖掘和丰富,已成为具有鲜明中国特色的生态话语,但其英译文可谓五花八门。基于对其中国化历程及域外影响的分析,阐释了“生态文明”回译为ecological civilization的理据。较其他译文相比,该译文能够更加有效地传达中国提出的人与自然和谐共生的新文明观。此外,还剖析了其他译文存在的原因,认为应区分“生态文明”的两种基本内涵,以实现准确传译。

"Shengtai wenming",as a loaned term,have been brought into China since the 1980s,and its connotation has been continuously developed and enriched.Now it is related to a system of ecological discourse with distinctive Chinese characteristics.However,its English versions vary from each other.Based on an analysis of its process of sinicization,this paper will elucidate the reason why"ecological civilization"is the best English version for"shengtai wenming".Compared with others,this version can well convey the idea of new civilization embodied by the Chinese conception that man and nature coexist harmoniously.In addition,an analysis of other versions are made,contending that it is vital to distinguish two different connotations of"shengtai wenming"in order to well convey its mea-ning into the target language.
