Objective:To understand the current situation of medical students'cognition of the relationship between climate change and health in a medical college of Shandong Province, and to discuss the influencing factors of whether medical students take countermeasures against climate change. Methods:A medical university of Shandong Province was selected as the investigation site, and a stratified cluster sampling method was adopted to select 1486 respondents for questionnaire survey. The main contents included general demographic characteristics, cognition and attitude towards climate change, and behavioral changes in response to climate change. Results:From the 1340 respondents,9.1%did not understand climate change,9.4%did not believe about climate change happening, and 83.2%believed that changing personal behavior had an impact on climate change.Residential type was a significant factor, which influenced medical students'attitudes.Whether to agree climate change happening and trust media reports or not were the main factors that influenced the degree of concern about climate change among medical students.Behavior change in response to climate change was influenced by access to information channels of climate change and whether trusting media reports.Multivariate analysis showed that medical students who agreed that individual behavior had an impact on climate change(OR=1.336,95%CI:1.111-1.607),believed that authorities were taking measures to deal with climate change(OR=1.345,95%CI:1.138-1.588),believed in media reports on climate change(OR=1.239,95%CI:1.011-1.518),and were optimistic about the impact of climate change on human beings(OR=1.330,95%CI:1.144-1.546)were more likely to participate in environmental protection actions to address climate change. Conclusion:Medical students have good understanding of climate change, but schools and society still need to improve education on climate change, through formulating and implementing relevant measures according to various influencing factors.
