A Review of the Recent 20 Years Academic Research on Changchun Zhenren’s Journey to the West

《长春真人西游记》是记载13世纪蒙古高原和中亚历史地理的一部重要著作,全文大约一万九千多字,记述了金元之际全真道领袖"长春子"丘处机(1148-1227)受召西行觐见成吉思汗和东归的全过程,记载了丘处机途中见闻、所作诗词、交往情况和谈话内容等。它是汉文典籍中第一部横贯蒙古高原的亲身游记,也是继唐《大唐西域记》以后第一部凭实地见闻记录河中至天山东部这一广阔地域的书籍,是研究宋金时期及蒙元初期历史的重要史料。自从此书被重新从《道藏》中发掘出来,国内外学者陆续对其作了许多研究。20世纪以来,此书的重要性越来越受到学术界的重视,产生了一批有价值的研究成果。进入21世纪,关于《西游记》的相关研究继续深入。本文围绕《长春真人西游记》一书的几方面的研究重点,对20年来相关学术研究做一个简要的回顾,列举主要的文章、著作和一些争议所在。

Travel to the West by Changchun Zhenren is an important book recording the history and geography of Mongolian Plateau and Central Asia in the 13th century. The full text is about 19000 words. It describes the whole process of Qiu Chuji(1148-1227),the leader of Quanzhen Taoism,who was called to visit Genghis Khan and return to the East during the Jin and Yuan Dynasties. It also records Qiu Chuji’s experiences,poems,contacts and conversation contents. It is not only the first personal travel notes across the Mongolian Plateau in Chinese classics,but also the first book to record the vast area from the middle of Tianhe to the east of Tianshan Mountain based on field information after the Tang Dynasty’s " Records of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty". It is an important historical material for studying the history of Song,Jin and early Mongolian and Yuan Dynasties. Since this book was rediscovered from daozang,scholars at home and abroad have done a lot of research on it. Since the 20th century,the importance of this book has been paid more and more attention by academic circles,and a number of valuable research results have been produced. In the 21st century,the related research on Travel to the West continues to deepen. This paper focuses on several aspects of the book " Travel to the West" by Changchun Zhenren,makes a brief review of the relevant academic research in the past 20 years,and lists the main articles,works and some disputes.
