墨西哥作家劳拉·埃斯基韦尔的小说《恰似水之于巧克力》讲述的是青年佩德罗和蒂塔相爱却因家族伦理传统的限制而无法在一起的悲剧爱情故事。从家庭伦理的立场对作品中的人物和事件进行分析,可揭示出作品如何再现传统社会的伦理观念及其对女性的影响,揭示出女性在那样的时代“顺从”“隐忍”和“屈从”,必然会导致悲剧命运。

Mexican writer Laura Esquivel’s novel Like Water to Chocolate tells a tragic love story in which young Pedro and Tita fell in love but could not be together due to the restriction of family ethical tradition.This article analyzes the characters and events in the works from the standpoint of family ethics,reveals how the works reproduce the ethical concepts of traditional society and its influence on women,and reveals that women’s“obedience”,“fo rbearance”and“submission”will inevitably lead to tragic fate in that era through concrete analysis of the performance of the conflict between love and ethics.
