In the post-SAMMPIRS era,simple and safe balloons are again valued.The emergence of intracranial fast-exchange balloons and drug-coated balloons has opened up new clinical ideas and injected new vitality into balloon angioplasty.In this article,we will review the classification,structure,and performance of balloon catheters,as well as the progress of balloon catheter application in the treatment of intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis.
