在《帝国主义是资本主义的最新阶段》(通俗的论述)中,列宁继承和运用马克思主义方法论,总结了《资本论》问世半个世纪以来世界资本主义的新变化,指出资本主义已经发展到一个新的阶段—帝国主义阶段。列宁运用历史和逻辑统一的方法,考察了资本主义垄断形成和发展的过程,把资本主义的新变化概括为五个基本特征,并在此基础上给帝国主义下了一个完整的科学定义。通过对帝国主义经济特征和历史地位的分析,列宁揭示了帝国主义时代经济政治发展不平衡的规律,指出帝国主义是无产阶级社会主义革命前夜。列宁的帝国主义理论科学说明了帝国主义战争的本质,为世界各国无产阶级反对帝国主义战争和争取社会主义革命的胜利提供了强大的理论武器。二战后,针对资本主义世界出现的新现象,帝国主义理论有了新的发展,但总体上仍然没有超越列宁的帝国主义理论框架。在新的历史条件下,深入学习列宁的帝国主义理论,有助于我们深刻认识和把握当代世界形势和发展趋势。

In“Imperialism is the latest stage of capitalism”(popular discourse),Lenin inherited and used Marxist method⁃ology to summarize the new changes in world capitalism since the publication of“Das Kapital”half a century ago,and pointed out that capitalism has already developed to a new stage--the stage of imperialism.Lenin used the method of historical and logi⁃cal unity to examine the process of the formation and development of capitalist monopoly,and summarized the new changes in capitalism into five basic characteristics,and based on this,gave a complete scientific definition of imperialism.Through the analysis of the economic characteristics and historical status of imperialism,Lenin revealed the law of uneven economic and po⁃litical development in the era of imperialism and pointed out that imperialism is the eve of the proletarian socialist revolution.Lenin's theory of imperialism scientifically explained the nature of imperialist wars and provided a powerful theoretical weapon for the proletariat of all countries in opposing imperialist wars and fighting for the victory of the socialist revolution.After the World War II,the theory of imperialism has made new developments in response to new phenomena in the capitalist world,but overall it still has not surpassed Lenin's theoretical framework of imperialism.Under the new historical conditions,in-depth study of Lenin's theory of imperialism will help us deeply understand and grasp the contemporary world situation and develop⁃ment trends.
