From Reality to Theory:Some Reflections on National Translation Activity

国家作为翻译主体实施翻译的现象早已存在。当前,国家翻译实践是现代性国家能力建设、国家语言能力建设以及国家翻译能力建设的一个重要部分。作为一个译学概念,国家翻译实践则是我国学者所进行的译学理论话语创新。从个体译者的翻译实践,到机构译者的翻译实践,再到国家翻译实践,我们从主体视角所认识到的翻译实践类型更加丰富。国家翻译实践论出现不久,还有待研究者从问题出发,从理论和实践多个层面深入研究,促使这一译学理论话语产生更为深远的影响。

National translation,a phenomenon having been existing for a long time in history,plays a great part in the construction of the state capacity,national capacity for language,and national capacity for translation as well.As a term newly made in translation studies in China,"national translation"helps give us more diversified perspectives to view translation.But there is still a long way for us to go if we want it to exert greater influence in the world;for there are multifaceted problems,both theoretical and practical,that need to be solved.
