蒋防《霍小玉传》传主身份考

The Identity of the Female Protagonist in The Biography of Huo Xiaoyu

关于《霍小玉传》中传主的身份历来众说纷纭,目前主要存在两种说法,一种说法认为霍小玉如小说所言为“霍王之女”,并引发了对霍王是李元轨还是李晖的争论;另一种说法指出霍小玉为长安名妓,只是借霍王之女的名号抬高自己的身价。本文通过比较《霍小玉传》与其他士妓恋爱题材的传奇作品,结合唐代社会生活、霍传不同版本、李益作品及李益夫妇墓志铭,给出了霍小玉绝非霍王之女,更不是妓女,而是一位郑氏小姐的论断。

There have always been different opinions on the identity of the master in The Biography of Huo Xiaoyu.At present,there are mainly two opinions.One is that Huo Xiaoyu is the daughter of King Huo as stated in the novel,which has triggered a debate on whether Huo is Li Yuangui or Li Hui.Another theory points out that Huo Xiaoyu was a famous prostitute in Chang’an,just using the name of the daughter of King Huo to raise her own value.By comparing Huo Xiaoyu with other courtesans in the legendary works about love,combining the social life of the Tang Dynasty with Li Yi’s works and the epitaphs of Li Yi and his wife,as well as different versions of the Biography of Huo Xiaoyu,this paper concludes that Huo Xiaoyu was not a daughter of King Huo,let alone a prostitute,but a lady of Zheng family.
