西门塔尔牛(Simmental)原产于瑞士西部的阿尔卑斯山区,主要产地为西门塔尔平原和萨能平原,是乳、肉、役兼用的大型品种。目前世界上许多国家也都引进西门塔尔牛在本国选育和培育,育成了本国的西门塔尔牛,并冠以该国国名而命名。本文主要介绍近几年西门塔尔牛育种、育肥和屠宰性能的最新研究进展的综述,以期为利用西门塔尔牛品种的养殖场和相关科研提供参考。

Simmental cattle(Simmental)originated from the Alps of western Switzerland,mainly from Simmental plain and saneng plain.It is a large breed of milk,meat and service.At present,many countries in the world have introduced Simmental cattle in their own breeding and breeding,and bred their own Simmental cattle,and named after the country’s name.This paper mainly introduced the research progress of Simmental cattle breeding,fattening and slaughter performance in recent years,in order to provide reference for speeding up the breeding of Simmental cattle.
