摘要
本研究主要借由新加坡南洋理工大学华裔馆一系列关于“何谓华人”之图片与史料文件,分别从“华人的自我形象”“与其他华人的比照”“跨文化的华人身份”三大视角,考察海外华人图像的意象多样性。新加坡作为一个华侨移居与文化多元的史地空间,自有其华人文化的独特氛围,通过分析当地大学研究机构馆藏的图片与文物,更揭示出跨越不同时空的华人形象并非单一,其对自我身份认同的内在追索亦各有不同,展现出文化符码(象)与象征意义(意)的多样风貌。
This article focuses on the“Self”,“Other Chinese”,“Intercultural Identities”through the pictures and historical materials which are held by Singapore Chinese Heritage Centre in Nanyang Technological University to explore the diversity of the Chinese overseas.These collections suggest that the image of Chinese overseas in different parts of the world and across generations is not simplex,and their ethnic identities are also different.
