The Dissemination and Acceptance of “Tao-te-ching” in Germany

中国传统文化哲学著作中,《道德经》在德国广泛传播,印迹深厚。《道德经》在德国的传播是一个不断深化的过程,德国学者对它的诠释经历了三个不同的历史时期:从19世纪的基督文化框架内的诠释,到20世纪早中期西方文化语视角下的诠释,再到20世纪七十年代至今立足于中国文化的诠释。随着德国学者对《道德经》认识的深化,《道德经》不再是依附于西方基督文化的宗教典籍,而是彰显中国道家思想和智慧的哲学著作,并对西方文明产生深远的厘革作用。

"Tao-te-ching" is one of the most widely spread Chinese classics of Taoism, which exerts the most profound influence on its culture in Germany. The German scholars’ interpretations of the classics has undergone three different periods from the Christianized interpretation in the 19th century, to the one from the perspective of the western culture in the early 20th century, and to the one in the context of the Chinese culture from the 1970s until now. With gradually deepening understanding, it is no longer a religious work of Christianity, but a philosophic masterpiece with the great thoughts and wisdoms of ancient Chinese Taoists, which has shed enlightenments on the western civilization.
