Roemer’s Critique of and Improvement on the Equality Theory in Liberalism

在当代西方政治哲学中,如何实现平等一直是人们关注的核心问题之一。针对当代自由主义政治哲学中平等理论的主要问题,美国著名学者约翰·罗默在批判当代西方自由主义平等理论的基础上,提出了"基本资源"平等分配、"X的可行优势"的机会平等政策及"团结合作"的社会主义伦理模式等平等主义的实现机制,深化了分配正义实现途径的研究,为实现社会分配的公平正义及平等主义伦理观念的构建提供了有益的启示。

In contemporary Western political philosophy, how to realize the equality has always been one of the core issues that people are concerned. In response to the main problems of the equality theory in contemporary political philosophy of liberalism, John Roemer, a famous American socialist scholar, criticized the liberal equality thought of Rawls and Dworkin, and put forward to a series of egalitarian realization mechanisms, such as equal opportunity policy of "basic resources" equal distribution and "feasible advantages of X", and "solidarity and cooperation" socialist values model. This deepens the research on the ways of realizing justice distribution, and provides useful enlightenment for the realization of social distribution justice and the construction of egalitarian ethics.
