Comparing Fixed-Point and Revision Theories of Truth from the Perspective of Paradoxicality

For the aim“to get a sense of the lay of the land amid a variety of options”,Kremer(2009)defined three relations to compare ten fixed-point theories suggested by Kripke(1975)and three revision theories considered by Gupta and Belnap(1993).This paper extends Kremer’s comparative work by comparing these theories from another important perspective,the perspective of paradoxicality.The notion of paradoxicality is very important for theories of truth,which has influenced philosophers’choice of specific theory of truth.We define a new relation in terms of this perspective,and establish the relationship among the thirteen theories of truth according to this relation.
