《温病条辨》开篇即指出:"是书虽为温病而设,实可羽翼伤寒。"《温病条辨》不仅广泛运用《伤寒论》之法,而且结合实际,或师承伤寒而有所变通,或补其未备而有所创新,对温病做了全面的理论总结,提出了行之有效的治疗措施;对伤寒与温病、太阴与太阳、风寒与温热、辛温解表与透凉解表进行了仔细全面的鉴别;补充了阳明上焦卫分证的清法,完善了阳明腑实证的下法;丰富了厥阴经的辨治,大大发展了《伤寒论》,既羽翼伤寒,又透说温病,对后世影响深远。
