The lantern riddle guessing is a unique folk custom activity in China.The lantern riddle originated from"Enigmatic Language(Yin yu)"and"Lingo(Sou ci)",developed with the detachable riddle and literal riddle,and reached perfection in Ming and Qing Dynasties.It contains the metaphors of social current affairs and the ending of the literal works,as well as the encyclopedia knowledge of classics,people′s names and folk customs,which can provide insight into the social and cultural values of a certain period.
