Comparison of the Similarities and Differences Between Films Adapted from All Men Are Brothers by Shaw Brothers Studio and Hong Kong Film Industry in 1990s

香港邵氏“水浒”电影与20世纪90年代的香港“水浒”电影同为香港电影艺术家对小说《水浒传》的影像再创作,二者既有相似之处,又存在明显的差异。二者均对原著情节进行了幅度较大的改易,彰显了原著中“义”之主题的正面精神价值,并体现出类型电影的鲜明特征。与此同时,邵氏“水浒”影片鲜明地投射出影片导演的创作主体意识,20世纪90年代的香港“水浒”影片则在这方面付之阙如;前者注重细腻展示武术动作,后者则注重以镜头的快速剪切来强化影片的视觉冲击力。二者之间的差异性既与影片导演自身的创作取向息息相关,也和当时香港电影创作技法的革新、商业意识的强化紧密相联。

Adapted from the novel All Men Are Brothers,Both the movies by Hong Kong Shaw Brothers Studio and Hong Kong Film Industry in1990s were the contemporary film artists'image re-creation of the novel.There were similarity and differences between them.Both of them made a great adaption to the original plots which manifested original novel's positive mental value in brotherhood theme,and embodied prominent features of genre film.Meanwhile All Men Are Brothers by Shaw Brothers Studio clearly projected the director's creative subject consciousness,while other films by Hong Kong movies in the 1990s lacked this kind of consciousness.The former emphasized exquisite martial art action,while the latter paid attention to the visual impact of the film through the rapid cutting of scenes.The differences of them were not only closely related to the film directors'own creation orientation,but also closely related to the innovation of film creation techniques and the strengthening of commercial consciousness in Hong Kong at that time.
