摘要
1903年由商务印书馆出版的《最新中学教科书·化学》兼具理论性、实用性与操作性,是我国目前已知最早的中学化学教科书,由谢洪赉译自美国Steel’s Popular Chemistry。从此书出版背景、内容体系、价值取向、形式体例、编译语言等方面分析,阐明其对清末化学教育开展以及近代化学教科书演变的重要历史意义。
The Latest High School Chemistry Textbook published by the Commercial Press in 1903 is theoretical, practical, and operational. It is the earliest high school chemistry textbook in China and is translated by XIE Hong-Lai from the Steel’s Popular Chemistry in the United States. This book analyzes the background, content system, value orientation, formal style, and compiled language of the book, and clarifies its important historical significance for the development of chemistry education in the late Qing Dynasty and the evolution of modern chemistry textbooks.
