In her last novel Between the Acts,Virginia Woolf expresses her thought of"community".The thought is reflected in the narrative of the novel,endowing the work with the narrative feature of"community".To be specific,the narrative communication breaks the boundary among three communication patterns,while shifts of narrative perspectives frequently occur.In addition,by means of narrative time and space,the pageant in the novel alludes to the present by referring to the past.All the above reveal the theme of"community"from different aspects,which not only highlights Woolf's innovations on art,but also emphasizes her constant efforts on inheriting the history,uniting people and stimulating their sense of social responsibility through art.
