摘要 生命科学旨在探索和揭示生命本质,运用多种生物技术造福人类。受限于早期生物科学和技术发展水平,人们难于一窥生命的起源、发育和遗传奥秘的全貌。经过长达百年的知识累积和技术进步,工程学理念逐渐被引入现代生物学中,人们对于生命本质的理解日趋深入,并逐步具备改造甚至创造生命的能力。生物技术的发展和应用拓宽了工程科学的疆域,工程科学的宽阔视野和方法则促进基础科学与生物技术的发展,二者相辅相成,逐渐在当代为造福人类提供了强有力的手段。结合干细胞与再生医学领域的创新实践和最新研究进展,探讨了生命科学领域中基础研究、生物技术与工程科学结合路径的设计与发展前景。 Life sciences aim to benefit mankind through exploring the nature of life by means of various bio-techniques.Due to the lack of advanced techniques in the past,our knowledge about the origin and inheritance of life has remained remarkably limited.With the accumulation of knowledge and the introduction of engineering science,our understanding of the nature of life has been deepened significantly.It is no longer impossible to modify or even create life.Science and technology are auxiliary to each other and jointly benefit humans,the advancement of biotechnology expands the scope of engineering sciences,and the broad vision and methodology of engineering sciences accelerate the development of basic science and biotechnology.This paper presents recent research progress in the field of stem cell and regenerative medicine and discusses how basic research,biotechnology,and engineering sciences can be combined to improve human life.
