Legge’s View on Goodness of Human Nature from an Intertextual Perspective

互文性理论强调文本间的相互联系。由此审视理雅各译本中有关性善的表述,可以发现他在比较对话、吸收融合中西注疏观点后,形成了自己独立的性善观,并在其译解的多个层面前后呼应、自成体系,为深入解读儒家性善论并促成其与基督教思想的交流融合提供了丰富而系统的依据。

Intertextuality emphasizes the connections of texts.From this perspective,we can analyze Legge’s translation versions about goodness.We can draw a conclusion that based on comparative conversation and merging related notes,commentaries and opinions in both east and west,Legge formed his independent view on the goodness of human nature,which is coherently reflected in multiple levels,providing abundant resources for the interpretation of Confucianist theory of the goodness of human nature and its communication with Christianity.
