城市更新视角下北京西交民巷场所记忆研究

Research on the Memory of Beijing Xijiao Minxiang from the Perspective of Urban Renewal

当今城市更新的背景下,传统街区的特色如何保存与维护成为城市建设亟待解决的问题,研究场地的场所记忆及其留存和延续的载体对保护传统街区的特色乃至城市文化的传存具有重要意义。位于北京西城区的西交民巷胡同风貌古朴,历史遗存众多,银行建筑群历经变迁沉淀于此。西交民巷居民的生活多元而丰满,蕴含着不同时期居民的场所记忆。本文以北京西交民巷为研究场地,从城市观察视角开展对其场所记忆的探索,梳理和分析场地有形及无形记忆,并开展激活场地功能的艺术实践,提出传存记忆的街区更新策略。期望以此增强当地居民对场地记忆的内涵与价值的理解,唤醒人们对于西交民巷片区场所记忆的自发式保护以维系和传承场所记忆,并希望以点带面为传统街区场所特色的传存拓展研究角度。

Under the background of urban renewal,how to preserve and maintain the characteristics of traditional blocks has become an urgent issue in urban construction.The research on the site memories and the carrier of its preservation and continuation plays an important role in protecting traditional blocks and even transmitting urban culture.There are many relics and quaint hutongs in Xijiao Minxiang,Xicheng District,Beijing,where a group of bank buildings have undergone changes and settled.Residents in Xijiao Minxiang have a colorful life,containing valuable memories of the urban site in different periods.With Beijing Xijiao Minxiang as an example,the paper explores its memory from the perspective of urban observation,analyzing its tangible and intangible memories,carrying out artistic practices to activate its functions,and proposing strategies for storing the site memories.This study is expected to help local residents understand the cultural connotation and value of site memory,and awaken people to consciously protect and maintain the site memory of Xijiao minxiang,in hope of expanding the research on how to preserve the uniqueness of traditional blocks.
