New Energy Demonstration Cities and Regional Economic Growth

为强化对新能源示范城市试点效应的理解,改善资源衰退型城市发展困境,文章基于2003—2017年287个城市的面板数据检验了新能源示范城市设立的经济增长效应。结果表明,新能源示范城市的建立促进了区域经济增长,且随着政策不断推进,经济增长效应不断强化。异质性检验表明,这种效应在东部和中部地区以及成长型和衰退型城市表现更加明显。产业结构优化和技术创新强化是新能源示范城市经济增长效应产生的重要传导机制。

In order to strengthen the understanding of the pilot effect of new energy demonstration cities and improve the development dilemma of resource declining cities,based on the panel data of 287 cities from 2003 to 2017,this paper tests the economic growth effect of new energy demonstration cities.The results show that the establishment of new energy demonstration cities promotes regional economic growth,and with the continuous promotion of policies,the effect of economic growth is constantly strengthened.The heterogeneity test shows that this effect is more obvious in the eastern and central regions,as well as in the growing and declining cities.The optimization of industrial structure and strengthening of technological innovation are the important transmission mechanism of economic growth effect of new energy demonstration cities.
