《离骚》“落英”考辨

A study of the Word Luoying in Lisao

《离骚》“落英”一词众说纷纭,至今未有定论,其中主要有两种解释:其一,“落英”是“陨落的花”;其二,“落英”是“初生的花”。这两种解释都有不妥之处,“落英”一词未得确解。通过集例见义可知,“落”有草木“长出”“长成”之义,《离骚》“落英”应解释为“已经长成的花”。

The word Luoying(落英)in Lisao(离骚)has different opinions and has so far proved be inconclusive.There are two main explanations of Luoying:one was the faded flower;another was the newly grown flower.Both of these interpretations are inaccurate,the meaning of Luoying has not yet been confirmed.Through literature reading and analysis,the author discovered that the word Luo(落)has the meaning of“grown out”or“grown up”,the word Luoying in Lisao should be interpreted as“grown flowers”.
