摘要 数学在早期建造过程中作为一种协调的媒介,但现代科学的出现,使得建立在宇宙学和本体论传统框架的数学与建筑之间的关系受到影响。甚至新技术的出现,导致建筑与结构的分离。面对这种关系所带来的可能,与众多建筑师合作的结构设计师塞西尔·巴尔蒙德在两个领域间开始了积极的对话:从秩序撤退,回归到对数学最初的认识,去探求抽象符号背后隐匿的图案意义,在建筑与结构更边缘性的合作与碰撞中获得了自由。 In the early centuries, Mathematics served as a coordinating medium during the construction process, however, since the modern science has appeared and developed, the relationship between architecture and mathematics built on the traditional framework of cosmology and ontology has changed. Indeed, the emergence of new technologies even leads to the separation of architecture and structure. Facing with changing relationship between architecture and structure, Cecil Balmond, a structural designer who working with many architects, rather took the advantages of the possibilities and started a positive dialogue between these two fields. By retreating from order, he sourced back to the original understanding of classical mathematics, and explored the hidden meaning of patterns behind the abstract signs, thus achieving freedom among the marginal cooperation and collision.
