释意理论角度下的汉英会议口译研究分析——以2019湖南经济合作洽谈会暨第九届(全球)湘商大会新闻发布会模拟汉英交替传译实践为例

Analysis of Chinese-English Conference Interpreting from the Perspective of the Interpretive Theory:A Case Study on the Simulated Chinese-English Consecutive Interpreting Practice for the Press Conference of the 2019 Hu’nan Economic Cooperation Conference&the 9th Global Forum for Hu'nan Entrepreneurs

释意理论将口译的过程分为理解、脱离原语语言外壳与重新表述三个步骤,可用来区分非语言意义与语言意义。口译员不仅要传达出语言符号的语言意义,还要将其非语言意义传达出来。口译员必须在理解非语言意义的基础上,选择适当的翻译策略将其表达出来。鉴于此,该文在释意理论的指引下,以2019湖南经济合作洽谈会暨第九届(全球)湘商大会新闻发布会模拟汉英交替传译实践为例,选取其新闻语料库中的口译实例进行理论分析。分析结果表明:为顺利完成连续口译任务,口译员必须注意目标语的连贯性、流畅性和语篇意义的表现;口译员可选用释意理论作为其口译实践的理论指导。除了深厚的理论素养,口译员还必须具备扎实的双语能力和丰富的百科知识。

The interpretive theory divides the process of interpreting into such three steps as understanding,breaking away from the shell of the original language,and restatement,which can be used to distinguish non-verbal meaning from linguistic meaning.The interpreter must not only convey the linguistic meanings of language signs,but also convey their non-verbal meanings.The interpreter must understand non-verbal meanings and choose appropriate translation strategies to express them.In view of this,under the guidance of the interpretive theory,this paper takes the simulated Chinese-English consecutive interpreting practice for the press conference of the 2019 Hu'nan Economic Cooperation Conference&the 9th Global Forum for Hu'nan Entrepreneurs as an example,and selects examples of interpreting in its news corpus to carry out a theoretical analysis.The analysis results show that in order to successfully complete a consecutive interpreting task,the interpreter must pay attention to the coherence,fluency and the performance of the textual meaning of the target language,and that the interpreter can choose to use the interpretive theory as the theoretical guidance for his or her interpreting practice.In addition to profound theoretical attainments,interpreters must also have solid bilingual skills and rich encyclopedia knowledge.
