海南建省首倡者考

A Study of the Initiators for the Establishment of Hainan Province

关于“谁是海南建省倡议第一人”的问题,学界中历来有潘存说、张之洞说、孙中山说等多种说法,但都缺乏第一手史料的支持。文章通过搜集各方原始史料,认为首倡海南建省者应该是海南琼山人陈治安,民国元年他在公开场合第一次提出了海南建省的倡议,这是有原始资料记载的史上第一次提出海南改省,从而开启了民国时期海南的建省运动。

As regards the issue of“who is the first person to initiate the establishment of Hainan Province”,there have been various views in the academic circles involving Pan Cun,Zhang Zidong,and Sun Yet-sen,but they all lack the support of first-hand historical materials.Based on historical materials collected from various sources,this paper opines that the initiator for establishing Hainan Province should be Chen Zhi’an,a native of Qiongshan,Hainan,who put forth the proposal of establishing Hainan Province on the first public occasion in the 1st year of the Republic of Hainan,which is the first record in the historical materials as to the initiative of establishing Hainan Province,thus initiating the movement of establishing Hainan Province during the Republic of China.
