Three Fundamental Problems of Implicit Theories of Personality

对于内隐人格观的研究,研究者们逐渐关注到了内隐人格观的三个基本问题:实体观与渐变观是一个维度的两极还是两个维度?渐变观比实体观更有利于个体的发展吗?实体观与渐变观具有跨领域的一致性吗?并得出以下结论:内隐人格观的单维度假设与双维度假设均有证据支持,对维度问题的探讨也让研究方法得以创新;普遍认为渐变观更具积极意义,但在某些条件下,渐变观者需要付出更多的成本与代价;内隐观的相对独立性假设与跨领域一致性假设均得到统计学上的证明。未来的研究应进一步考虑这三个基本问题,从而推动内隐人格观研究方法、实际应用与理论架构的发展。

As to the implicit theories of personality,researchers began to focus on the following three perspectives.Whether entity theory and incremental theory belong to two dimensions or two poles in one dimension?Whether the person with incremental theory always develops better than the person with entity theory?Whether the implicit theories of personality have cross-domain consistency?The conclusions are as follows:Both the one-dimensional hypothesis and the two-dimensional hypothesis are proved by relevant evidences,and the discussion on the dimension also renovate the research method.It is generally believed that the incremental theory is more positive,but the man who with incremental theory also need to cost more under some conditions.The hypothesis of independence of implicit theories and the hypothesis of cross-domain consistency of implicit theories are both proved statistically.The future research on these three topics should be considered further which can promote the development of research methods,practical application and theoretical framework for implicit theories of personality.
