党的政治建设是运用马克思主义的基本原理来处理现实问题,制定符合现实的纲领、路线和方针政策,并有效地贯彻执行。加强党的政治建设是马克思主义政党的根本要求,是中国共产党的优良传统,是社会主义现代化建设的现实需要,是深入推进全面从严治党的内在要求,为新时代党的建设指明了方向。就理论逻辑而言,党的政治建设来自于在无产阶级与资产阶级斗争中产生和发展的马克思、恩格斯、列宁的党建思想,在中国的革命实践中不断加强和完善了党的政治建设、在新时代党的建设的总体要求和实践中加强党的政治建设。在实践上加强政治建设就是要做到维护党的领导、坚定政治道路,坚持政治原则、把准政治方向,严守政治规矩、强化政治纪律,突出政治标准、营造良好政治生态,优化政治文化、提高政治能力,确保我们党做到政治信仰不变、政治立场不移、政治方向不偏,努力开创中国特色社会主义事业的新局面。
