基于陕西文学英译语料库的译入译出文本比较研究:以词语情感色彩的传达为例

A corpus-based comparison between L1 and L2 translation: Focusing on the translation of emotional words in Shaanxi literary works

富有情感的词语因其独特的表现力在文学作品中享有重要地位。本文借助自然语言处理领域经典情感词表,采取"以字为纲、按字索词"的方式筛选典型情感词语集,并在陕西文学英译语料库中进行检索和统计,然后结合译例对比探讨了译入译出文本在传达词语情感色彩方面的异同。结果表明:尽管大部分词语的情感在译文中保持了原貌,但是译入译出文本在表达方式的多样性、对等性上存在差异,且原词语境不明确时情感传达的清晰度和强度差异较大。这些差异有可能成为甄别译者身份和辨别译文质量的新维度。

Emotional words are important in literary works for their power to express subtle feelings.Focusing on the emotional words,the research is to explore the similarities and dissimilarities between L1 and L2 translation.Based on How Net Wordlist(Sentiment),a character list is created as the index for a higher recall rate search for typical emotional words,which are used to search for sentences from PCSL,the parallel corpora of Shaanxi literary works.Then statistics and sample analysis are em-ployed to compare the emotions behind these words between the two translated versions and the original work.Results show that the emotions of most words are transferred into the target texts without much change,however,there are differences be-tween L1 and L2 translation concerning the level of diversity and equality;and when the original context is vague,differences may also lie in clarity and intensity.It is suggested that the differences be considered as new dimensions for translation quality assessment as well as translator identification.
