Three Dimensions of Zhang Zai’s Thought of Ritual Theory and Their Significance

张载礼学的本质以及在其思想中的地位是本文的主旨。礼学思想是张载哲学的重要组成部分。从宏观上说,张载哲学可视为由基于易学的宇宙论和基于人性论的礼学构成,前者以气哲学为核心,后者以变化气质论为主要内容。然而,学术界长期以来多关注张载的气哲学而忽视了其礼学。鉴于此,从整体性原则考察张载的礼学思想,不仅从原理及理论的层面上探寻张载论礼的内涵以及其理解方式,亦从政治之法制、社会之典礼、伦理之义三个维度考察其礼学思想。

This paper mainly focuses on the nature and role of Zhang Zai’s thought of ritual theory.The thought of ritual theory was an important part of Zhang Zai’s philosophical thought.Overall,Zhang Zai’s philosophical thought was composed of cosmology,based on the theory of Yi Jing,and the theory of human nature,based on the theory of rituals,the former was centered on Qi philosophy,and the latter was centered on the theory of changing temperament.Nevertheless,Chinese philosophers have been focusing on Zhang Zai’s Qi philosophy but neglected his theory of rituals.Accordingly,this paper is aimed at giving an overall picture of Zhang Zai’s thought of ritual theory not only to discuss the conception and understanding of Zhang Zai’s thought of ritual theory on a fundamental and theoretical level but also to explore Zhang Zai’s thought of ritual theory from the three dimensions such as political rituals,social rituals and ethical rituals.
