Research on the Influence of Different Types of Income Gap on Residents’Consumption

文章对不同类型的收入差距对中国居民消费影响进行研究后发现:居民消费对于不同收入群体之间的收入差距并不敏感,但对于区域间的收入差距和城乡收入差距较为敏感,而且在控制其他变量的情况下,这两种差距能够显著提升消费,这一现象是比较反直觉的,可能与居民的攀比式消费和中国的收入差距主要是由于区域间和城乡间差距造成的有关。

This paper studies the impact of different types of income gap on Chinese residents’consumption.It is found that residents’consumption is not sensitive to the income gap between different income groups,but it is more sensitive to the regional income gap and urban-rural income gap.Moreover,under the control of other variables,the two kinds of gap can significantly increase consumption,which is counter intuitive.It may be related to the comparative consumption of residents and the income gap in China,which is mainly caused by the regional and urban-rural disparities.
