The City Heiress was a very successful political comedy created in 1682 by Aphra Baine,the first professional female writer in British history,which narrated the struggle between Wilding from the Tory Party and Timothy from the Whig Party rivaling women and property.The females boldly expressed their desires in the play with new gender performances.The members of the two parties in the dispute were degraded and the political carnivalization writing was achieved.Aphra Bain used the carnival world to reflect the feminist thoughts and individual thoughts so that the anti-traditional feminine thoughts hidden under the surface plot made an impression on the female audience in the theater.
