Carrying on the lifelong pursuit of her mother and dedicating her whole life to Russian education: a brief review of Professor Li Yingnan’s life story

李英男出生在一个不平凡的家庭,其父李立三是我党早期著名革命家,其母李莎是老一辈的著名俄语教育家。母女俩都曾执教于北京外国语大学俄语系,她们在长达半个世纪的教学生涯中兢兢业业,桃李芬芳,为国家培养了大量俄语人才,为中国外语教育事业的发展做出了不可磨灭的贡献。

Professor Li Yingnan was born in a family of Russians. Her father Li Lisan was a famous early revolutionist of our Party, and her mother Professor Li Sha was a famous Russian educator of the older generation. Due to their special life experience, both Professor Li Yingnan and her mother had taught in the Russian Department of Beijing Foreign Studies University. They worked hard in their teaching career for half a century, cultivated a large number of Russian-speaking talent for the country, and made indelible contribution to the development of China’s foreign language education.
