论张恨水的“得意之作”《春明外史》

On Zhang Henshui's"Satisfied Work"—Chunming Waishi

一般认为,《春明外史》《金粉世家》《啼笑因缘》《八十一梦》是张恨水的长篇小说代表作,而其中最重要的是《啼笑因缘》。但是,张恨水本人引为得意的是《春明外史》《金粉世家》《八十一梦》,尤其是《春明外史》。因为,对张恨水而言,他用这部小说举起了自己改良章回小说的旗帜,也是这部小说奠定了他“北方小说界第一作家”的地位。而从现代通俗文学的发展角度看,《春明外史》在北方小说界引起了颇大反响,无论“新兴文艺家”还是通俗文学阵营,都注意到了其巨大影响力,堪称1920年代通俗文坛的重要收获。

It is generally believed that Zhang Henshuis representative novels include Chunming Waishi, Noble Family, The Fates of a Marriage of Tears and Laughter and Eighty-one Dreams, among which the most important is The Fates of a Marriage of Tears and Laughter. However, Zhang Henshui himself was satisfied with Noble Family and Eighty-one Dreams, especially Chunming Waishi,because Zhang Henshui used this novel to lift the banner to improve Zhang Hui novels. This novel established his status as the "first writer in the northern fiction circle". From the perspective of the development of modern popular literature, Chunming Waishi aroused considerable repercussions in the northern fiction circle, both "rising writers" and popular literary circles noticed its huge influence, which can be regarded as an important achievement of the popular literary circle in the 1920 s.
