Translation, which is regarded as a semiotic communicative activity fulfilled by translation behavior,is bound to reflect the translator’s subjectivity.Based on descriptive analyses of paratexts of the translated English versions of Deer and Caldron and Legends of Condor Heroes:A Hero Born respectively by John Minford and Anna Holmwood, this study attempts to figure out the differentiation between translators’subjectivity of the scholar-translator and the commercialized translator.Through comparison, the study concludes three aspects of differences.Firstly, there exist differences in selection of source texts and publishing presses. Moreover, the comparative analyses of their epitexts manifest the different levels of self-identification in his or her own translation and the different evaluation focus from other reviewers or studiers. Also the comparative analyses of their peritexts demonstrate the two translators’differentiated subjectivity in terms of visibility and invisibility, activity and passivity,"act of behavior"and degree of"thick translation".
