Integrating Information Technology and the Real Economy:A Bricolage Perspective in the Chinese Context

阐释新一代信息技术和实体经济深度融合的微观机理具有重要的理论和现实意义,但现有相关研究对经理级CIO结构权力低的中国情境缺乏关注。本文基于特征映射逻辑,从IT—业务战略匹配是信息技术和实体经济深度融合在企业创新层面的反映出发,基于组织高阶梯队理论和创业拼创理论,采集142份经理级CIO与TMT成功配对问卷开展实证研究。结果表明:经理级CIO拼创行为正向影响CIO—TMT行为整合及CIO管理自主权,构成推动企业IT—业务战略匹配的关键因素;CIO是否属于TMT成员,决定CIO是以结构性社会资本还是以拼创行为来影响IT—业务战略匹配。同时,IT—业务战略匹配会促进企业IT使能的业务创新,且竞争压力低时这种促进作用更加明显。据此,本文提出企业层面的信息技术和实体经济深度融合的拼创理论,进一步阐述了党的十九大报告关于新一代信息技术和实体经济深度融合这一理论思想的内涵与企业实现机理。

Despite it has theoretical and practical significance to explore the micro mechanism of the deep integration of new-generation information technology and the real economy,scholarly attention to CIOs’lower structural power in the Chinese context is surprisingly limited.Drawing upon upper echelons theory and entrepreneurial bricolage,the study examines how manager-level CIOs could achieve IT-business strategic alignment,which based on the feature mapping logic and IT-business strategic alignment is the reflection of the deep integration of information technology and real economy in the enterprise innovation level.Based on the survey of 142 CIO-TMT matched-pair data,results suggest that CIOs’bricolage influences CIO-TMT behavioral integration and CIO strategic decision-making authority,as a key of factors in driving the IT-business strategy alignment.Whether CIO is one of TMT members will determine whether the CIO will influence the IT-business strategic alignment with structural social capital or with bricolage.Furthermore,competitive intensity weakens the effect of IT-business strategy alignment on IT-enabled business innovation.Accordingly,the paper proposes bricolage mechanism in the Chinese context of the deep integration of IT and the real economy,which could further elaborate the connotation of the theoretical idea about the integration of new generation information technology and real economy in 19th CPC National Congress Report.
