摘要
肌肉生长抑制素(MSTN)是调节骨骼肌发育的因子之一,属于TGF-β超家族的成员,能够对肌肉生长起负调控作用。该基因在骨骼肌中广泛表达,基因缺失或突变能够导致动物体表现出"双肌"表型。在畜牧生产中,MSTN基因的多肽可以作为选择肌肉性状的分子标记。文章对MSTN基因的结构特点、生物学功能、作用机制以及在动物生产中的应用进行阐述,展望该基因的研究前景。
Myostatin(MSTN) is one of the factors that regulate skeletal muscle development. It is a member of the TGF-β superfamily and can negatively regulate muscle growth. The gene is widely expressed in skeletal muscle, and deletion or mutation can cause animals to exhibit a ’bicuscular’ phenotype. In livestock production, the polymorphism of MSTN gene can be used as a molecular marker for the selection of muscle traits. In the paper, the structural characteristics, biological function, mechanism of action and its application in animal production of MSTN gene are reviewed, and the research prospect of MSTN gene is prospected.
